空港でLawrenceが出迎えてくれました。
Lawrenceのところで働いているインターンの青年が、ホテルまで運転してくれました。同じくFrankly!に出演するAngel Eyesというメルボルンから来た青年も一緒です。車中、ブリズベンの見所や、オーストラリアの他の都市の話や日本のことなど話しました。みんな初めて会ったのにすごくフレンドリーでよく話す。会話が途切れないのに関心してしまう。
We left Cairns next morning for Brisbane to join the Franlky! festival.
Lawrence welcomed us at the airport. A young guy (I forgot his name, sorry!), who is working with Lawrence as an intern drove us to the hotel. Another musician called Angel Eyes, who is also playing at the show was with us too.
We talked about Brisbane, other cities in Australia and Japan etc,. They were so friendly and talkative. I was impressed that their conversation never stopped. Great social skills! They were charming people.
ホテルの周りはカフェなどいっぱいありお洒落な雰囲気。本格的なオーガニックショップがあり物色。でもゆっくり買い物してる時間はない・・
どこかヨーロッパのような美しい町並み。ストリートの雰囲気がすごく良くて、Willは写真をバシバシ撮っていました。そうこうしているうちにもうベニューに行く時間。
There were many nice cafes and shops around our hotel. I liked the atmosphere of the street. We had a look at the local organic shop. The street view reminded me of Europe. It was totally different from Cairns. Will was taking lot's of pictures. We didn't have enough time to see the city though, it's time to go to the venue!
フェスの会場は、昔、発電所だったところを改造した建物。右下に写っているのがLawrence。いつも電話を片手に忙しそうにしていました。一緒に歩いていると色んな人が声をかけてくる。皆に慕われているんだなってわかる。彼はBrisbaneでは、レーベルのオーナーという枠を超えて、けっこう影響力のある有名人みたいな感じみたいだ。奥さんのレベッカと愛娘のフランキーちゃんにも会えました。
The venue was a converted power house. You can see Lawrence in this picture. He looked so busy, always having his phone in his hand. Many people talked to him so friendly, it seemed everyone likes him. I was so glad to meet his wife Rebecca and their baby too.
会場は川に面していて、向こう岸には高級な住宅地。
The venue was facing a river. You can see nice houses on the other side.
リハまで時間少し時間があるので、会場の周りの公園を散策。
We walked around the park until our sound check started.
ケアンズでもいっぱいあったこの木、もしかしてガジュマル？蔓が迷路のようになっていて、子供達が中で遊んでいます。これは楽しそう！
木登りするピーターパンを見つけました。
Kids were playing under the huge tree. We saw Peter Pan climbing the tree. Looks so fun!
バックステージ。夕食のピザ。その向こうに見えるのが私達の楽器。

We played next to Ytamo.
初めてやるような大きな箱で、反響音も大きくて音のバランスがすごく難しかった。しかもサウンドチェックが５分くらい・・
これはもう場数を踏むしかないか。でもまあ堂々と演奏できたから良しとした。
終わったあと５人くらい、良かったよって言いに来てくれた！
I had never played in such a large venue. It was difficult to make a good balance of the sounds. But I think I did my best. Some people talked to us after the show, to say they liked our performance. I was so glad, thank you!

MelbouneのTwerpsというバンド、好きでした！
I liked Twerps, a band from Melbourne.
オオルタイチさん。素晴らしかった！この日間違いなく一番の盛り上がりでした。写真ではわかりませんが、みんな躍り狂ってます。すごい！なんか私は、同じ日本人として、この場にいれたことが、すごく大きなことに思えて・・というか、ただただ楽しくて、幸せで、感動でくらくらしました。本当にみんな笑顔だった。私はなんてラッキーなんだ、としみじみ。
Oorutaichi's performance was definitely the best act of the festival. People looked so happy and dancing to his music.
I was so impressed to see how well he get the audience. Wonderful!!!
そして翌日はゴールドコーストです。
