ケアンズ、ブリスベン、ゴールドコースト、メルボルン、MikoのソロとCelerとのデュエットで5公演、無事終えて帰ってきました！
楽しかった思い出に浸る毎日です。オーストラリアは大好きな国になりました。
I have been to Australia for tour as Miko and duet with Celer from 9/7 to 9/16. We had shows in Cairns, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Melbourne. I had such a great time. I love Australia!
一日目。ケアンズに到着したのは朝の6時半くらい。こんな朝早い便に合わせて空港に迎えに来てくれたのは、今回のツアーを組んでくれたLawrenceのお友達のNickさん。早くに本当にありがとう！
We arrived in Cairns on 6:30 am. So early! The air was so fresh. Nick, who is Lawrence's friend came to pick us up. Thank you Nick!
Nickがケアンズで一番美味しいというコーヒー屋さんに連れていってくれました。右がNick。
Nick took us to the best coffee shop in Cairns.
そのカフェの裏は倉庫になっていて、アーティスト達のアトリエとして使われているようです。お洒落！ここでライブをやったりもするそうです。こういう気取らないような広いスペースっていいな。東京にもあればいいのに。
Behind the cafe, there was a huge space used as a gallery or a studio. It seems like you can play a show there. Nice! We don't have a place like this in Tokyo.
続いてNickが管理をしているArthouseにおじゃましました。広い庭には作りかけのたくさんのオブジェが。竹で組んだ塔みたいなものがあって、こないだここでサーカスをしたそうです。大きな廃バスやクレイジーにペイントされた車などいろいろありました。
Nick took us to the Arthouse, He is the manager of this place. There were lots of objects in its garden. Such a fun place ! They had a circus there recently, amazing!
庭の奥にある馬小屋のようなところにもう一人若者が居候していて、のそのそと起きてきました。彼もミュージシャンだそうです。
先日遭遇したクロコダイルの映像を見せてくれるニック。
Nick showed us a video of a crocodile, which he came across in the river behind.
この日はライブがなかったので、NickがCrystal Cascadeという森に連れていってくれました。
Since we didn't have a show on that day, Nick took us to a forest called Crystal Cascade.
森は気持ちが良すぎてWillは気づいたら岩の上で寝ていました。私はフィールドレコーダーで川の音を録音。
Will was napping on the rock. I recorded some water sound of the river. It felt so good.
Nickと別れて町の中心部へ。大きな木に巨大なコウモリがいっぱい集まって、すごい鳴き声です。コウモリは日本にいる３倍くらいのでかさ。ケアンズには他にも見た事ない鳥がいっぱいいました。
We went to the central area next. A lot of bats were gathering in a huge tree, their singing was so loud. Those bats were about five times the size of Japanese ones.We saw a lot of unfamiliar birds in Cairns.
ケアンズ二日目の夜は、KickArts というギャラリーでライブ。映画館のような構造の会場で、大きなスクリーンを使えるとのことで、私達は急遽映像を準備することに。Franlky!フェス用に素材は持っていっていたので。海で泳ぎたい衝動に駆られながら、ウィルと二人でホテルで映像編集。リハーサル時間になり、ここでブリスベンまで一緒にツアーをするオオルタイチさん、ウタモさんとご対面。
On the 2nd day in Cairns, we had a show in a gallery called KickArts. The venue was like a movie theatre with a huge screen, so we decided to make a visual for this special place. We spent that afternoon making a movie in our hotel. It was a shame that we couldn't swim in the sea.. At rehearsal, we met Oorutaichi and Ytamo for the first time.
この日は私達はMiko/Celerでのデュエットで演奏しました。ビートルズをモチーフにした、ちょっと変わったセットです。私はギターと鉄琴、おもちゃ楽器などで半分即興のパフォーマンス。ディレイペダルの接続位置を間違えるというへまをやってしまった。でも誰も気づかなかったみたい。反省点は残るけど、お客さんの反応は思ったより良かった。ギャラリーの人たちがハッピーそうにしていたのが何よりだ。それにこんな緊張しなかったライブ初めて。初めて見たオオルタイチさんのパフォーマンス、素晴らしかった！夜はみんなでarthouseに戻ってタイ料理を食べました。そこでウクレレミュージシャンで旅をしているBosco and honeyというカップルにも出会いました。底抜けに明るくて楽しい人たち。さて、翌日はブリスベンに飛びます。
We played a special duet music, a unique set using Beatles as a motif. I did a half-improvisation performance playing guitar, glockenspiel and other toy instruments. I connected the delay pedal in a wrong place..stupid! but nobody noticed. The audience looked happy seeing our show. I was so glad that the staffs of the gallery looked happy too. Oorutaichi's performance was amazing! After the show, we went back to the arthouse to have Thai dinner. we met ukulele musician couple, Bosco and honey. They were so fun. We flew to Brisbane next morning.
